Biography
Barney Whitesman obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit School of Law where he was selected to serve on the law review because of his academic achievement.
He obtained a Bachelors degree with honors from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Whitesman served as a law clerk in the pre-hearing division of the Michigan Court of Appeals in Grand Rapids.
In 2013 and 2014 Mr. Whitesman served as a Michigan Special Assistant Attorney General, assigned to Genesee County as a felony trial prosecutor. During this period he tried a record number of jury trials, earning the reputation as "The Terminator".
Mr. Whitesman is a former circuit court case evaluator and Attorney Discipline Board panel member. He has lectured on constitutional law and law office case management. His article on criminal trial preparation will be published in the March/April issue of the Genesee County Bar Beat.
